Sometimes I feel guilty calling this work.
I mean, not all the time, because more often than not, I’m up actually doing the WORK part of writing at 2:00 a.m. and I’m tired as hell, but when work involves getting to check out cool new places in Seattle, such as iFLY, I can’t really complain.
The lovely people at iFLY Seattle invited me to their new facility in the Southcenter area to go flying for an article I was writing on Red Tricycle (which just went live — check it out!). Josh had actually been a few weeks earlier and I can’t say that I was jealous. I’ve never had the desire to go skydiving in any form — indoor or outdoor — and although he had a great time, I was still meh about the whole thing.
Okay, let’s face it. I was scared.
But, research called and I couldn’t very well suggest that parents that their children indoor skydiving without giving it a spin myself.
I don’t even know how to describe the experience, other than you need to go. I’ll put it this way — it was so amazing that I now have the urge to actually skydive. The real, hardcore, jump out of a plane with a parachute kind of skydiving.
Lucky for you, I have a little video of my iFLY adventure. See how they take us way up into the tunnel? That was insanely scary and I screamed the entire time. We were lucky enough to have one of their professionals come in with us on our last flight and take us up like that. Not even kidding. Screaming. (I’m the one with the black shoes on…)
