Being5 turned three last week and although I was sick, I did do a little bit of celebrating, thanks to a special and delicious delivery that was left on my doorstep by a friend (thank you! xo).
It’s hard to sum up another year of blogging and just like when it’s my own real birthday, I feel shy about celebrating and humble for all of the support that my readers, friends, colleagues, family and fellow bloggers have given me over the past year. Being5 grows every single day and I am thankful for each of you and for the fantastic brands and PR companies that I work with. I would have never imagined, when I started Being5, that it would ever turn into this. The term “blessed” is not in my vocabulary, but it’s the closest sentiment that I can find to express how I feel…
I never know where Being5 will go or where it will take me. I was just telling someone that there will be a day when I’ll stop writing it — as the girls get older and their stories more personal, as I run out of stories to tell you and brands to lust about (will that ever happen?). There will be a day when I’m no longer relevant and that’s okay. I know it’s coming. Let’s see if we can squeeze another year out, shall we?
In the meantime, a little blog-iversary gift to say thank you for being my true blue readers. You all know how obsessed I am with these Kate Spade calendars. I’ve been using them for years — over a decade, if I trust my memory to go that far back. At the beginning of each year, I spend hours (I’m not joking…) filling up my fresh, new calendar with dates, birthdays, assignment deadlines and more — color coded, naturally.
Since we are so close to 2013, I think it’s only appropriate that I give away one of these pretty little calendars so that you can join in my addiction. Here’s to another year together! xo.

We just purchased tickets on line to see Scary Monster and the Super Creeps at the Shakedown. We have a special tie to the lead guitarist and cannot wait to see him play. I have no idea if we will make it to midnight in Downtown Bellingham but it would sure be a “first” if we do. Happy New Year to all of the Being 5 followers. Have a special tie to it’s author, as well.

Oh Katie, I am a paper calendar girl too, and I also spend time filling in my new calendar! This Kate Spade item would def up my game.
I am in NC with my brother and his family for the new year. And congrats! Glad I “found” you. I gave up my blog after one year due to time crunches, though it makes me happy that people still ask about it and my NY Resolution is to get back to it
