Pinterest. You know I was resistent to you at first, but now, we’re good friends. Not best friends, because sometimes you let someone hack my account and post weight-loss pins without my consent, but still, pretty good friends. Like, I’d totally hold back your hair if you were throwing up.
I do use Pinterest for work to promote the articles I write, as well as using it for things that I actually want to save for myself — from gift ideas to homes that I love to books to read. Surprisingly, there are a few pins that are ALWAYS popping up on my list of pins that have been re-pinned by other people. Some of them crack me up, so I thought I’d share.
This is, by far, my most popular pin on Pinterest (find it by clicking the picture above or here). This was actually from one of my SheKnows Parenting articles: Boo! Creative Halloween treats for class parties and it was one of the first articles that I staged and took the photos for. You know, with a real camera, not my iPhone. The article says it’s been pinned over 500 times, which I’ll totally take.
Other popular pins:
The stripper shoes with hot-pink leg warmers that link over to an article I wrote on allParenting about DIY Halloween costumes for moms. Find the pin here and the full article here. FYI, I didn’t suggest that moms dress up as strippers for Halloween, although, I’m pretty sure that that’s what most of you are going for, so…
There was a reason why I pinned this specific photo for my article on the new Fall TV shows for 2013. Firefighters. Enough said. Find the pin here and the full article here. I wish I could see where y’all pinned it. I’m guessing it’s on a board that has nothing to do with TV and everything to do with hot guys.
I was so please that this article was re-pinned so many times. Not only because I love the little faces of the article and the topic of raising the girls to be good sisters is such a personal one. Find the pin here and the full article here.
The article I wrote for Red Tricycle about how to create a rainbow bedroom was just as fun to pull products for as it was to pin on Pinterest. The curtains were a hit on Pinterest (pin here), as were these cute felt hearts (pin here). Find the full article here.
