Josh has been giving me quite a bit of sass about not ever being talked about on here. I think his direct quote was “What’s a guy got to do to get on the BLOG?”
He’s been working so hard on the bunk beds for the girls and I can’t even express to you how gorgeous they are. I swear that they are better than anything we could buy. He designed them after The Walden Bunks from Land of Nod, although we are just doing a single-over-single bunk that can be made into two stand-alone twin beds.
These are the completed headboards. The footboards are also complete and all four pieces are ready for hardware, sanding and hole-filling before I get to prime and paint them. I don’t think we’ll paint them bright white — the dresser in Janie and Meg’s room (it’s from my grandparent’s house circa 1940) is antique white, so we were thinking of painting the beds a light neutral color (actually, I want to paint them turquoise, but Josh thinks I’ll regret it).

by the way. josh is currently knitting while i write this. he’s making a cozy for his beer carboys (the big glass containers where the beer ferments). not even joking. a true renaissance man, this one.
